In a significant development within the luxury hospitality sector, the global lifestyle hotel group Ennismore has partnered with YAMED, a real estate development platform under the Ynexis Group specializing in property investments in Morocco, to unveil the Delano Marrakech Hotel & Residences project. This ambitious initiative marks the inaugural entry of the Delano brand into the African continent, reinforcing Marrakech's status on the international expansion map of the brand alongside cosmopolitan cities such as Miami and Dubai.
This joint venture is strategically pivotal not only for the involved parties but also for the city of Marrakech, showcasing Ennismore's belief in the city's emerging prominence as one of the leading global destinations in luxury tourism. For years, YAMED has aimed to develop a project that combines real estate investment with design, culture, and hospitality within an exceptional space in Marrakech. This vision is now being realized through collaboration with the Delano brand, renowned globally for its unique identity and standing in the upscale hospitality sector.
The Delano brand originated in Miami, where it redefined the concept of modern luxury by blending design, service, and experience within integrated spaces. Following its successful launch, the brand is now extending its international footprint with upcoming projects in London and New York City, alongside Marrakech. The choice of Marrakech as a location is attributed to its rich cultural heritage, vibrant artistic scene, and world-renowned hospitality—elements that resonate with Delano's philosophy centered on cultural exchange and shared experiences.
The Delano Marrakech Hotel & Residences will occupy a strategically advantageous site, in close proximity to some of the city's most iconic tourist attractions and cultural landmarks, including the famous Jardin Majorelle and the historic medina, while offering stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. Additionally, the project will be adjacent to several renowned golf courses, notably the Royal Golf Marrakech and Amelkis Golf Club.
The development is set to feature approximately 80 residential villas, alongside 130 hotel rooms, which will include suites and private villas. The project will embody a design that fuses modern aesthetics with local touches, ensuring a harmonious blend between the architecture and outdoor spaces inspired by Moroccan identity. The design responsibility has been entrusted to Elastic Architects, a firm specializing in architecture and interior design, in partnership with teams from Ennismore and YAMED.
Sales of the residential units are anticipated to commence by the end of 2026, with the hotel expected to open its doors in 2030.
