The Jewish community in Agadir came together on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to commemorate the 27th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's ascension to the throne. This significant event took place at the local synagogue, attended by an official delegation led by Saïd Amzazi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, along with Karim Achakli, President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, and numerous elected officials and security and civilian leaders.
During this occasion, the representative of the Jewish community in Agadir emphasized that the celebration of this glorious Throne Day serves as a renewed national milestone, allowing Moroccan Jews to express their deep ties of loyalty and fidelity to the esteemed Alaouite throne. This event reflects the values of coexistence and tolerance that have characterized Morocco throughout its history, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In his address, he pointed out the special attention that His Majesty the King dedicates to the Hebrew component, acknowledging it as an integral part of Moroccan identity. He highlighted the efforts made by the Jewish community, in partnership with national institutions, to preserve and enhance the rich Amazigh-Hebrew cultural heritage, especially in the Souss, southern regions, and the Atlas mountains, which are home to a historical legacy that showcases centuries of coexistence among various components of Moroccan society.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of Moroccan Jews to the esteemed Alaouite throne, expressing their pride in their national identity and their unwavering readiness to defend the kingdom's constants and sanctities, particularly the territorial integrity of Morocco. The community extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, praying for his continued good health and success in his endeavors.
The ceremony concluded with attendees raising their hands in prayer to the Almighty, asking for protection for the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and for the prosperity of his heir, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Hassan, as well as support for His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid and the esteemed Princess Lalla Khadija, along with all members of the royal family.
