Arkia Airlines Restarts Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and Marrakech
Arkia Airlines, the Israeli carrier, has announced the resumption of its direct flights between Tel Aviv and Marrakech starting from August 24. This initiative comes after a three-year suspension of services, which was largely attributed to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. According to several Israeli media reports, the airline will operate two flights per week, scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, utilizing Airbus A320 aircraft. The fares for one-way tickets are set to begin at approximately $329, with flight durations ranging from five to six hours, ultimately arriving at Marrakech Menara Airport.
The decision to restart this route follows months of diligent coordination with aviation and security authorities. Passengers are advised that holders of Israeli passports must obtain a visa prior to their arrival in Morocco. The Tel Aviv-Marrakech route was initially launched in 2021, and before the suspension of flights, other Israeli airlines like Israir and El Al were providing similar services with three weekly flights.
