Crackdown on International Criminals: 11 Arrested in Morocco

Coordinated Security Operations Lead to Significant Arrests

In a series of simultaneous security operations carried out by the National Security Services, in close collaboration with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, a total of 11 individuals were arrested on Monday. These individuals were subjects of both national and international search warrants, among whom ten hold dual citizenship from Morocco and countries such as France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, along with one French national.

According to available data, these security interventions took place in the cities of Marrakech and Tangier. A thorough vetting process of the suspects through the databases of Interpol revealed that ten of them were subjects of red notices issued at the request of judicial authorities in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Details of the Arrests and Their Implications

The information indicates that among those arrested are six French citizens of Moroccan origin, who are wanted by the French judiciary due to their suspected involvement in money laundering and connections to criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking, in addition to cases of fraud and deception. Furthermore, three Belgian citizens of Moroccan descent were apprehended on suspicion of their involvement in international drug trafficking operations. The security interventions also led to the arrest of a Dutch national of Moroccan origin, who is the subject of a red notice from Interpol for alleged crimes related to international drug promotion and money laundering.

In a related context, a French citizen was also detained, revealing that he was wanted nationally under a warrant issued by the National Judicial Police, due to suspicions of being implicated in a money laundering case.

The searches conducted as part of this operation resulted in the seizure of luxury watches, personal belongings, high-value vehicles, and motorcycles, along with substantial amounts of currency in both national and foreign denominations, bank cards, mobile phones, doses of cocaine, passports, and identification documents belonging to the suspects.

The detainees are now subject to custody under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutors, as investigations and necessary inquiries regarding the criminal actions attributed to them continue. This is part of addressing foreign complaints and judicial files that necessitate the application of legal consequences as stipulated in national legislation, especially considering that several suspects hold Moroccan citizenship.
