Significant Developments in Child Protection Initiatives
The Moroccan League for the Protection of Children (LMPE) convened its Ordinary General Assembly on Thursday in Rabat, focusing on the presentation and approval of its moral and financial report, as well as the Auditor’s report pertaining to the 2025 financial year. Additionally, the assembly outlined the action program for 2026-2027. Princess Lalla Zineb, the league's president, emphasized the various actions and projects undertaken by the LMPE aimed at supporting children in vulnerable situations, all within the framework of a strategic program for 2025-2030. This program seeks to enhance accommodation capacities for beneficiaries and fortify mechanisms for the protection of their fundamental rights.
During the assembly, Princess Lalla Zineb acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the league’s partners, social stakeholders, and various associations dedicated to child protection efforts. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for their collaborative spirit and fruitful partnerships. The year 2025 marked a significant milestone for the LMPE, highlighted by the inauguration of a summer camp center in M’diq, the completion of construction for centers located in El Jadida, Hay Moulay Rachid (Casablanca), Nador, and Ait Melloul, as well as the external development and equipping of centers in Tit Mellil, Agadir, Taroudant, and Benslimane. Moreover, the assembly noted the commencement of construction works for a new center in Sidi Othmane (Casablanca) and another in Tangier.
Future Directions and Commitment to Child Welfare
Looking ahead, the assembly underscored the imperative to intensify efforts and mobilize essential human and financial resources to enhance care conditions for children lacking family support. This endeavor will be undertaken in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, aligning with the visionary aspirations of King Mohammed VI, which advocate for human development and the maintenance of social equity foundations. After thorough discussions regarding the achievements and programs aimed at bolstering the LMPE’s social initiatives for children in challenging circumstances, assembly members reached a unanimous agreement to approve the moral and financial report, alongside the financial accounts concluding December 31, 2025, and related resolutions.
Concluding the general debate, the assembly resolved to persist in organizing training sessions for managers and supervisors working within LMPE institutions, while also ensuring the implementation of partnership agreements established in 2025. This proactive approach is essential for reinforcing the league's commitment to creating sustainable and supportive environments for children in need.
