Severe Heatwave Warning Across the Kingdom

The National Meteorological Directorate has issued a severe heatwave warning, indicating that temperatures are expected to soar across various regions of the kingdom from Sunday through Wednesday. This alert is categorized under an "orange" level of vigilance, signifying the seriousness of the situation.

According to the meteorological bulletin, temperatures are forecasted to reach between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius in several provinces, including Smara, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Oued Eddahab, Awsard, Tarfaya, Tan-Tan, and Laayoune. Meanwhile, other regions such as Sidi Slimane, Rahamna, Nouacer, Khmissat, Sidi Ben Nour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fkih Ben Saleh, Meknes, Khenifra, Fez, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, and Qalaat Seraghna are expected to experience temperatures ranging from 37 to 42 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore, the warning extends to cities such as Agadir Idaoutanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inzegane-Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Rabat, Sale, Temara, and Skhirat, where temperatures are predicted to fluctuate between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius from Sunday to Tuesday. Areas like Sidi Ifni, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, and El Jadida can expect milder conditions with temperatures between 34 and 38 degrees Celsius.

This extreme weather poses significant health risks, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of intense heat. It is crucial to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak hours, and ensure proper ventilation in living spaces.
